speaking different languages

I love being a mom (at least most days), but it is a lot harder than I ever imagined. Through it all–the cleaning, making meals, grocery shopping, being a taxi driver and a referee I really try to show my kids that I love them. I do love them and there is not doubt about...

audra - I SO needed to read that post. That is my little Kaylea to a "t." Thanks for the idea...I will be giving her a picture soon now. You're right it's all about the different love languages...I could be exhausted at the end of the day doing "stuff" for her but I need to do it in her own language. Oh little girls are the cutest...Thanks again.

Jerlyn - Sweet little Brooklyn! I love her so much! Be reassured Jodi that you are the best mom!!!! You are the PERFECT mom for Brooklyn. How much you read and try to understand your children and help them speaks volumes about you. Believe in yourself! I know I believe in you!

Heather - I love the 5 Love Languages Book. It explains a lot. What a sweet girl. And you are such a good mom!

Baby Mozart

One of Talmage’s favorite things to do is to play the keyboard. He always has the biggest smile on his face and laughs as he bangs on the keys. He is my little Mozart I tell you. He loves music! I can’t help but smile seeing him sitting on the stool playing away. He just...

I am sure angels were there, but you were the one sent to him from the beginning. I know your love and prayers have and are seeing the very special little boy he is through his trials and learning opportunities. I watch you with your kids and you are a great mom. He is so blessed to be your son.

Jerlyn - I am so very happy for you! And, I am absolutely thrilled for Brigham! You are an incredible mom, Jodi! With an incredible gift to know what to do for your sweet son. I love you both!

my little know it all

A recent conversation between me and Brooklyn:
Brooklyn: “Mom, I don’t want to go to school today.”
Me: “Why, Sweetie?”
Brooklyn: “I already know everything so I don’t need to go anymore.”
Me: (Laughing) “You are very smart for a 1st grader but you still have A LOT to learn. I still learn things everyday and so does dad....

Back to School

It is still a little hard to believe that summer vacation has come and gone. I loved having the kids home and doing fun things–swimming, vacationing, playing games, hanging out and lazy mornings. But it is time and they were both starting to get a little bored being with just mom, especially my social butterfly...
